About Steward
Why Steward
Steward helps you find Christian-owned businesses — ranches, shops, makers, and services — so where you spend your money can reflect what you believe. Scripture calls us stewards of what we've been given (1 Peter 4:10). Every purchase is a small act of stewardship.
Built by voice
Steward was built by Dave Shade, a founder from Texas City, Texas. Dave is a C5 quadriplegic, and he built Steward entirely by voice — every page, every listing, every step of the plan — working with AI tools he directs out loud. That's also why Steward is built to be accessible from the start: voice input, large tap targets, and full screen-reader support.
Why Christian-owned businesses matter
Many faith-driven owners run their businesses on values they don't always advertise: honest work, fair prices, and giving back. They're often small, family-run, and hard to find. Steward gives them a place where being Christian-owned is how you find them, not something they keep quiet.
How listings work
Gray listings marked "Not yet contacted" are businesses we found that publicly share their faith but haven't confirmed their listing with us yet. Full-color listings have been in touch with us. There's no denominational test — the bar is simply that the owners are followers of Christ.
